Welcome to FitMyGolfClubs ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, your rights and choices, and how we protect it.
This policy applies to the FitMyGolfClubs mobile application (iOS and Android), the web application, and our website at fitmygolfclubs.com (collectively, the "Service").

Account Information: Email address (required), display name (optional), date of birth, gender, height, and golf handicap. This information personalizes your equipment analysis and improves recommendation accuracy.
Golf Equipment Data: Club specifications you enter including brand, model, type, year, shaft details (flex, weight, material), loft, lie angle, and grip size. Your favorite club selections and golf ball preferences.
Usage Data: Bag grading results, scenario tests, AI recommendation interactions, Fit Assistant conversations, star ratings on clubs, and support inquiries.
Pro Account Data (if applicable): Business name, role, client roster, lesson and event records, and revenue tracking data. Pro users manage client relationships through the Service.
Device Information: Device type/model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, app version, and mobile network information.
Analytics Data: Features used, screens viewed, button interactions, session duration, and error/crash reports. We use PostHog for product analytics (see Section 4).
We do not access your device camera or photo library. FitMyGolfClubs does not identify clubs from photos. You enter club specifications manually or search our database of 10,000+ clubs and shafts.
Core Functionality: Grading your bag across 8 professional fitting factors, generating AI-powered recommendations, running equipment scenarios, powering the Fit Assistant chat, and matching you with relevant equipment from affiliate partners.
Account Management: Creating and maintaining your account, authenticating your identity, processing credit purchases and subscriptions, and sending transactional emails (receipts, security alerts, important updates).
Product Improvement: Analyzing usage patterns to improve our grading algorithms and AI recommendations, identifying and fixing technical issues, and developing new features.
Marketing (with consent): Sending promotional emails about new features and golf equipment tips. You can unsubscribe at any time.
We use trusted third-party services to operate the Service. These providers access your information only to perform tasks on our behalf and are contractually obligated to protect your data.
Anthropic (Claude API): Primary AI provider for bag grading analysis, recommendations, and the Fit Assistant. We send your club specifications and bag data to generate personalized analysis. Anthropic does not use your data to train their models. Privacy Policy
OpenAI: Fallback AI provider used when the primary service is unavailable. Same data scope as above. Privacy Policy
Firebase / Google Cloud Platform: Database (Firestore), user authentication, cloud functions, and file storage. Your account data, equipment data, and grading results are stored in Firebase. Privacy Policy
PostHog: Product analytics and error tracking. Tracks feature usage, screen views, and interactions to help us improve the app. We filter out internal test accounts. Privacy Policy
Algolia: Powers club and shaft search within the app. Your search queries are sent to Algolia to return matching results from our equipment database. Privacy Policy
Stripe: Processes credit pack purchases and Pro subscription payments on web and Android. We never see or store your full credit card number — Stripe handles all payment data securely. Privacy Policy
Apple App Store / Google Play Store: Processes in-app subscription purchases on iOS and Android respectively. Payment data is governed by Apple's and Google's privacy policies.
SendGrid: Sends transactional and account-related emails (grading results, password resets, receipts). Privacy Policy
Twilio: Sends optional SMS notifications for Pro account features (event invites, lesson reminders, unread message alerts). SMS requires explicit opt-in. Privacy Policy
Klaviyo: Email marketing for our waitlist and product announcements (website only). Privacy Policy
Awin (Fairway Golf USA): When the AI recommends equipment and you click a product link, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. Awin tracks clicks and conversions using cookies. We do not share your personal information with affiliate retailers. Privacy Policy
Steadfast Golf: Direct affiliate partner. Same click-tracking disclosure as above.
Important: Our AI recommendations are based on your equipment analysis and fitting factor scores. They are never influenced by affiliate commission rates.
Google Analytics (GA4): Website traffic analysis and user behavior. Privacy Policy
Google Ads: Conversion tracking for advertising campaigns. Privacy Policy
Meta Pixel (Facebook): Tracks website visits for retargeting and ad measurement. Loaded only after cookie consent. Privacy Policy
TikTok Pixel: Tracks website visits for advertising performance. Privacy Policy
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes. Your golf equipment data, grading results, and AI recommendations are yours.
Active Accounts: We retain your data as long as your account is active. Equipment data and grading history are kept so you can track changes over time.
Inactive Accounts: After 3 years of inactivity, we may send a reminder email. After 4 years of complete inactivity, we may delete your account data.
Deleted Accounts: When you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days. Some data may be retained for legal or compliance purposes (fraud prevention, financial records). Anonymized analytics data may be retained for product improvement.

When you delete your account, all personal data including your bag, grading results, AI conversation history, and profile information will be permanently removed within 30 days. This action cannot be undone.
If you are a Pro user with active clients, you will need to disconnect all clients before deleting your account.

FitMyGolfClubs is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it immediately. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information to us, please contact us at .
FitMyGolfClubs is based in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States.
European Users (GDPR): We process your data based on contractual necessity (providing the Service), legitimate interests (product improvement, fraud prevention), and your consent (marketing communications). You have additional rights under GDPR including the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
Technical Safeguards: Encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), encryption at rest (Firebase default encryption), secure API authentication, and Firebase Security Rules restricting data access.
Access Controls: Limited access to personal data, two-factor authentication for admin accounts, and secure development practices.
While we implement reasonable security measures, no system is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data during transmission or storage.
Website: We use cookies for analytics (Google Analytics), advertising (Meta Pixel, Google Ads, TikTok Pixel), and email marketing (Klaviyo). Our Meta Pixel only loads after you accept cookies via our cookie consent banner.
Mobile App: We use device identifiers for analytics (PostHog) and crash monitoring. We do not use third-party advertising trackers inside the mobile app.

Transactional emails (receipts, security alerts, account updates) cannot be disabled while your account is active.
Marketing emails can be unsubscribed at any time via the unsubscribe link in each email or through your account settings.
Push notifications are optional and disabled by default. They can be enabled or disabled in your device settings.

FitMyGolfClubs offers optional SMS notifications for event invites, lesson notifications, and unread message alerts. SMS is off by default and requires explicit opt-in. We will never send marketing or promotional texts.
