The quick answer: both are low launch, low spin driver shafts. True Temper calls HZRDUS Black “low launch/spin”; Fujikura rates Ventus Black low launch and low spin. In the 60 g class they nearly match: HZRDUS 6.0 is 65 g at 3.2° torque, Ventus Black 6-S 66 g at 3.2°.

What Each Maker Says

HZRDUS Black: “One of the most successful low launch/spin shaft models of the past decade continues to innovate with the addition of our new 4D Optimized Carbon weave.”

Ventus Black: Fujikura says it “offers unparalleled stability and control, helping players achieve a more penetrating ball flight with increased ball speeds.” Its spec table rates every Ventus Black low launch and low spin.

So the two makers aim them at the same flight. On the sheets, the 60 g shafts are within about a gram of each other, and the torque ranges overlap in every weight class.

Frequently asked questions

Is Ventus Black the same as HZRDUS Black?

No: they are different shafts from different makers (Fujikura and True Temper). Both makers describe them as low launch, low spin, and their weights and torques are close class by class.

Which is lower spinning, HZRDUS Black or Ventus Black?

Both makers describe their shaft as low spin and neither publishes a spin number, so the spec sheets can’t rank them. A launch monitor session with your own swing can.

How much does HZRDUS Black 60 weigh?

True Temper lists the HZRDUS G5 Black 60 at 65–67 g depending on flex (5.5, 6.0, 6.5, TX).

How much does Ventus Black 6 weigh?

Fujikura lists Ventus Black 6 at 66–66.5 g (S, X and TX), with 3.0–3.2° of torque.
