The quick answer: both are True Temper steel iron shafts. Project X runs 110 to 130 g with numbered flexes (5.0 to 7.0); Dynamic Gold runs 127 to 132 g with lettered flexes (R300 to X100). True Temper describes both as giving a penetrating ball flight.
Every flex of each shaft with True Temper’s listed weight (standard .355 tip). The rows line up by position in each range, not as equivalent flexes:
True Temper lists the torque of both as “Low” and publishes no number for steel. Within Dynamic Gold, R300 and S200 are both 127 g, S300 and X100 are both 130 g, and S400 is the heaviest at 132 g. Project X goes up 5 g per flex step.
Project X: “Engineered for precision, Project X delivers a stable, penetrating ball flight with low spin and torque characteristics.” On its FAQ: “Project X shafts are designed with a frequency-based loading system, delivering a stable, consistent feel throughout the swing.” And of the original model: “Project X (Original): Firm, stable profile for aggressive players.”
Dynamic Gold: “Delivering exceptional feel, consistency, and a penetrating ball flight, Dynamic Gold provides the control and workability that serious golfers demand.” On its FAQ: “Dynamic Gold shafts are ideal for players seeking low launch, controlled spin, and maximum consistency.” “They are best suited for golfers with moderate to aggressive swing speeds who prioritize precision and shot shaping.”
Those are the maker’s descriptions. The measurable difference on the spec sheets is weight and how the flexes are named.
The most common comparison. On True Temper’s sheets, Project X 6.0 is 120 g and Dynamic Gold S300 is 130 g, so the 6.0 is 10 g lighter. One step up, Project X 6.5 (125 g) is 5 g lighter than Dynamic Gold X100 (130 g). Both come in .355 and .370 tips.

True Temper. Project X and Dynamic Gold are both True Temper shafts, sold side by side on truetemper.com, and the HZRDUS driver shafts are part of the same Project X family.
Yes, in most flexes. True Temper lists Project X from 110 to 130 g and Dynamic Gold from 127 to 132 g; a 6.0 (120 g) is 10 g lighter than an S300 (130 g).
Weight and naming: the 6.0 is 120 g, the S300 130 g. True Temper describes Project X as low spin with a firm, stable profile, and Dynamic Gold as low launch with controlled spin.
Neither in general. They are different weights and profiles from the same maker, so the one that fits your swing and the rest of your bag is the one to play; a fitting or a side-by-side test decides it.
