Aldila Shaft Chart: Every Current Line

Flexes run L, A, R, S, X and TX depending on the line — the ultralights stop at R or S, Rogue Silver starts at S. The weight number is the class, not the exact figure: a Rogue "60" is typically 63–69g depending on flex, because Aldila holds the profile and lets the weight drift a few grams between R and X.

What "130 MSI", "2KXV" and the Rogue Colors Mean

A Rogue label reads like Rogue Black 130 MSI 60 S: color, fiber grade, weight class, flex. The color is the bend profile — Black mid, Silver low, White smooth mid. MSI is the modulus of the carbon fiber in millions of psi: 130 MSI is a higher-modulus, stiffer-per-gram fiber than 110 MSI, so a 130 MSI shaft can be built more stable at the same weight. It's a construction grade, not a launch code. 2KXV on an NV means the re-issue built with Aldila's 2K carbon weave.

The Rogue that fits the most golfers. Black is the balanced profile — mid launch, mid spin, a firm-but-not-harsh feel from the high-modulus 130 MSI fiber — in 60 and 70 weights (63–76g), flexes R, S, X. It was a common stock upgrade in Callaway drivers for several years, so there are made-for versions around; the aftermarket "Tour" Black is built a touch firmer. Rogue Silver 110 MSI (low launch, low spin)

The tour Rogue. Silver has the stiffest tip and highest kick point in the family, torque 2.9–3.8°, and comes only in S and X (66–79g). It's built for fast, aggressive swings that spin the driver up and need the shaft to resist. The lower-modulus 110 MSI fiber sounds like a downgrade next to 130 MSI, but Aldila uses it here for feel — Silver is designed to be firm, not boardy. Under about 100 mph it takes away launch faster than spin.

Rogue White 130 MSI (mid launch, smooth)

The smooth Rogue — mid launch with slightly lower spin than Black and a softer, more active feel through the tip. Weights 60 and 70 (63–79g), flexes R, S, X. White fits players who like Black's numbers but want to feel the shaft load; it's also the better of the two for smoother tempos.

Rogue M*AX and Rogue Infinity (the accessible and the current Rogues)

M*AX is the easier-loading Rogue — mid launch, mid spin, a softer midsection built for moderate speeds that want Rogue stability without Rogue effort, in 60 and 70 weights. Infinity is the current-generation Rogue: a mid-launch, stable profile in 60, 70 and 80 (57–84g), flexes R through TX. Think of Infinity as the modern replacement for Black and M*AX for players who want the newest construction.

Synergy (mid launch, easy loading)

Aldila's high-volume mid launcher — smooth, easy to load, mid launch and mid spin, torque 3.8–5.0°, in 50 and 60 weights (50–66g), flexes R, S, X. Synergy has shipped stock in a lot of drivers and fairway woods, and it's a genuinely good fit for the 85–100 mph majority. It's less stable than a Rogue at the top end but far more forgiving of a smooth transition.

NV and NV 2KXV (the 2004 classic and its re-issue)

The original Aldila NV — the green one — was the most-played driver shaft on tour in the mid-2000s and one of the best-selling aftermarket shafts of all time: mid launch, mid-low spin, smooth. Aldila re-issued it as NV 2KXV with a 2K carbon weave in two profiles: 2KXV Blue is the mid-launch original character, 2KXV Green is a lower-launch, lower-spin version for stronger players. Weights 55 and 65 (60–69g), flexes R, S, X, plus NV HY for hybrids. If you loved your 2006 NV 65-S, the 2KXV Blue is the closest thing in production.

Ascent, Ascent PL, Ascent Red and Ascent Blue (the ultralight family)

Ascent is Aldila's ultralight line. Base Ascent and Ascent PL are 40 and 50 weights (40–50g) in L and R with high torque (around 7°) — built to launch high for slower speeds. Ascent Red (52–67g, R/S/X) is the lightweight mid launcher; Ascent Blue (52–54g, R/S) is the lightweight mid-high launcher. These are the right Aldilas for 65–88 mph swings that were mis-fit into a Rogue because "Rogue is the good one."

Quaranta and RIP Phenom (specialists)

Quaranta ("forty" in Italian) is the sub-50g ultralight — 42–54g in L, R and S with 5–7° torque, built purely to help slow swings launch and carry. RIP Phenom is a low-torque hybrid shaft (2.0–2.8°) across an unusually wide weight range, 63–100g, in A through TX; it's one of the few hybrid shafts with a genuine senior-flex option. Neither is a driver shaft for the average player, but each is the best answer for its niche.

Stock vs "Tour" Aldila: The Made-For Trap Applies Here Too

Aldila's size as a stock supplier means the same name often covers two shafts. A no-upcharge Rogue Black 60 in a stock Callaway driver is a made-for build, softer and higher-torque than the aftermarket Rogue Black 130 MSI Tour 60. Same color, same weight class — different shaft. The same is true of stock Synergy and NV versions across several OEMs.

How to tell: aftermarket Aldilas carry the full name including the MSI number and often "Tour"; stock versions usually drop the MSI and came with the club. If you were fit into an aftermarket Rogue on a launch monitor, buy that exact shaft — the stock one with the same color won't reproduce the numbers.

Picking Your Aldila: The Two-Question Shortcut

Question 1 — what's your miss? High, spinny drives that lose distance → Rogue Silver (or NV 2KXV Green). Low shots that won't carry → Ascent Blue, Quaranta, or a lighter Synergy. Neither extreme → Rogue Black, Rogue Infinity, Rogue White or Synergy — Black or Infinity if you want stability, White or Synergy if you want feel.
